แผ่นดินไหวทำให้เกิดความเสียหายต่ออาคารบ้านเรือนและโครงสร้างพื้นฐานในหลายพื้นที่ โดยเมืองหลินเซียได้รับความเสียหายอย่างหนัก ทางการจีนได้ส่งทีมกู้ภัยและความช่วยเหลือไปยังพื้นที่ประสบภัยแล้ว
